Calling Forth the Great Revolution

Real revolution starts from within. There can be no outward revolution without an inward revolution to start the fire.

The word revolution derives from the word ‘evolution’, a process of growing awareness. So ‘re’volution is a return, a revisiting, of a state of growing awareness. In this case, a dynamic state, as per the revolution associated with the complete turning of a wheel through 360 degrees.

There is no other way of changing a society than through the process of change in the individuals who make up that society. Nor is it possible to change people from outside. However, it is possible to inspire an awakening, or reawakening of the individual or individuals, through sharing awakened energy.

This is the essential significance of the word ‘guru’ or teacher. But rare indeed is the guru who both preaches and practices true awareness raising. Holistic awareness. For these are true revolutionary qualities.

But revolution does not usually feature in the consciousness raising messages of gurus. Maybe this is because most stop at the first station and then float up to the ether beyond. That station stop goes under the heading ‘spiritual emancipation’. However, spiritual emancipation is not synonymous with
holistic change, the only force capable of catalysing true revolution. (more…)

The Non Compliant Challenge – Where Are We?

As the ugly realities of the control system become ever more apparent so does the dialogue increase about what can be done about it. ‘Non compliance’ features prominently as an important tool for counteracting the slide into slavish conformation with the powers that be.

In general, as I see it, there are two main strands of choice available to those who wake-up and feel impelled to take a stand: the outward focussed activist approach and the one that favours withdrawal from the system and ceasing to comply with the status quo: ‘non compliance’. Practising both at once is a pretty tall order, but not impossible.

In affect, they are two sides of the same coin. Both are valid ‘actions’ to counteract the abysmal slide into slavery. However the activist approach usually demands having one foot in the status quo in order to be affective in ‘working from the inside’ and/or going out to make a stand in defiance of the rape of the planet. Whereas the non compliance approach makes its stand through refusing to comply with demands of the status quo control system in everyday life. (more…)

Occupy Warsaw! Polish Farmers Create Clandestine City Camp

Something rather remarkable is happening in the middle of Poland’s capital, Warsaw, and it’s not exactly a capital city spectacle. In fact, rather the opposite.
Tucked-away under a line of trees, opposite the Prime Minister’s Palace in Central Warsaw, is a small ramshackle camp, comprising two tents, a Second World War wood fired mobile cooking apparatus, some chairs and benches, a pile of logs and a number of banners, posters and logos.
This is ‘Green City’ a symbolic and actual site of occupation by farmers fighting to save their livelihood and way of life. At the time of writing, it is in its 28th day of existence – and it isn’t planning on going anywhere, in spite of the fact that it is illegal and suffering under a daily fine imposed by the Polish government. A fine which is, in many ways, a small replication of what is happening on a much bigger scale to farming communities throughout the European Economic Community and beyond. (more…)

Constructing the New Society

‘Eight Steps’

We who engage in postulating solutions to the dominant issues of this time, use much energy speculating on unknown outcomes. But how much energy do we use in laying the ground for a future of our own making?

How much time do we give to devising the template for the new society we must create?

To bring a dream into reality is hard work; it’s a lifetime’s work at the very least. Yet many hold back from ever embarking – rationalising that such a quest is a futile exercise that will surely be swamped by a reactionary and repressive status quo.

Somehow, this failure to embark on the single most important mission of our lives, characterises a great swath of sleepwalking humanity. But not only, also a significant percentage of supposed ‘spiritual aspirants’ who confuse the azure bubble in which they live with the stark reality of the new world which needs to be chiselled and honed into existence.
